RAKU FIRED CERAMIC VASE NO 165
Black vase with a stylized gold grass blades
Hand rolled clabs of chamotte clay were shaped and impressions were made by artist’s fingers, resembeling blades of gold grass. Dried for 14 days and then passed through its first firing in a ceramic kiln at about 1000ºC. It was cooled for 24 hours and before the final firing, gold was applied to the flower with a brush. The result of the raku firing is a unique work of art that brings special character to any room.
