POTTERY WHEEL THROWING EXPLORER EXPERENCE WORKSHOP

WHAT

How many times have you watched a potter making a mug, a bowl or a vase from a ball of clay? How many times you wished you could try that too? Now you can! Simply complete an application form and add your pottery workshops to the basket.

WHERE

Here at Art Studio Laura Rainbow we are incredibly lucky to be situated in a Zagreb’s suburb called Brezovica. The unspoilt countryside only 20-minute drive to the centre of Zagreb. We have two potters wheel and you can bring a friend to try the potters wheel too. In fair weather  if you wish we can place our potter’s wheel in the garden and for an hour you can fancy yourself a potter under the blue sky.

WHO FOR?

Grownups wanting to try something new or hone their long lost skill of throwing on the potters wheel. For children too. They  must be accompanied by an adult. Adults who are only escorting children and do not throw on the wheel are not charged.

INCLUDED

The use of  potters wheel, tools, equipment, clay, two firings in the kiln, necessary guidance and tuition are provided and included in the price. Parking is free, as is a selection of teas and coffee.

Our further processing (turning, trimming, drying, firing and glazing) of one chosen piece is also included in the price. Should you like to experience trimming and turning on the potters wheel you are welcome to book additional handbuilding pottery worksops to turn, trim, decorate all your pieces . (this mist be done within 1-10 days following the 1st workshop).

TIME

Our wheel throwing explorer workshop lasts one hour (60 minutes). Why not combine it with one of our handbuilding pottery workshops. (total time 3,5 hours). Everything is provided, even a glass of wine or home made Croatian liqueur.

Experimenting with clay on potters wheel will take us to a place of calm, connection and focus. Making pottery is the easiest way to promote mindfulness.
