Each raku fired bird sculpture has it’s own name, it’s own story and it’s own purpose. Flyingbird was created to represent freedom of movement. Hand modelled from soft chamotte clay and dried on the hot summer sunshine before being fired in special ceramic kiln at almost thousand degrees centigrades.
The hand glazing process and ancient raku firing bring a final surprise to each of the pieces making every single one unique with their own story. There is a life happiness in each Bird sculpture, born out of synergy of human touch and all four elements, fire, water, earth and air. Holding a bird in our hand we feel one with the nature.
