THE STORY OF BIRD OF HAPPINESS NAMED GLORIA

THE STORY OF BIRD OF HAPPINESS NAMED GLORIA

Bird of Hapiness Gloria is a result of creative energy of almost 30 people including Laura’s own.

she started her life at a  workshop for over 20 people. The subject was release and recycle. The students created their own unique pieces. All was recorded and documented and then all pieces were returned back into the bag with clay.

Latter on Laura recycled that clay and made one whole flock of Birds of Happiness. Gloria being the largest.

Three students added their little touches in decorating Gloria and two more gave their hand to Laura and a colleague ceramicist during raku firing process.

All in all the energies of almost 30 people were involved in creating Gloria. That is why Gloria is a synergy of energies. Plus fire, water, smoke and clay of course.

She was named after a TV reporter who was interviewing Laura and some of her students.

The hand glazing and final raku firing produced stunning and unpredictable effects making Gloria totally unique, one of a kind Bird of Happiness.

There is a life happiness in every Bird of Happiness, born out of synergy of human touch, clay, water, air and fire. Holding a Bird of Happiness in our hand we feel one with the nature.
