DETAILS
The inspiration for Nura’s look was a beautiful green eye, shot from close up and then zoomed in to reveal a whole little universe of light. Nura means light in Arabic and Turkish.
Nura was hand shaped in soft chamotte clay and slowly dried in the hot summer sunshine before being fired multiple times in a special ceramic kiln at the temperature of around thousand degrees centigrades.
Careful hand glazing process and ancient raku firing bring a final surprise to each Bird of Happiness making every single one unique with their own story. There is a life happiness in each bird sculpture, born out of synergy of all four elements, fire, water, earth and air. Holding a bird in our hand we feel one with the nature.
