KAKO JE NASTALA OVA PTICA SREĆE PO IMENU BUL BUL

The inspiration for Bull Bull Bird of Happiness came from two sources. One came from carst fields of Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina where one can find myriad birds and an extremely sweet species called hoopoe caught my eye. Hoopoe is not dissimilar to Asian birds named Bul Bul. That is how this Bird of Happiness was named . In fact,  there is a story behind the creation of every Bird of Happiness reflected in her name. Bul Bul  is shaped in traditional terracotta clay, hand glazed and kiln fired several times.

The hand glazing process gives an unrepeatable finishing touch to every sculpture making each Bird entirely unique and one of a kind.  There is a life happiness in every Bird, born out of synergy of human touch, clay, water, air and heat. Holding a Bird of Happiness in our hand we feel one with the nature.

Demo Title

Raku firing really is one of the most natural techniques that you can encounter in working with clay. In loose translation the word “raku” means contentment and enjoyment in happy accident..

Originally created for the Korean tea ceremony, and further developed in 16th century Japan.

In raku firing all of nature’s elements are used in the process – earth, fire, air and water and together they create an unpredictable and unique style .

The process of Raku firing differs from other firing methods because it requires the fast removal of the piece from the furnace at their maximum temperature. While red hot, the pieces can be reduced using smoke from flammable materials, or enhanced with alcohol, or decorated with horse/pet hair and feathers.

It is a rather dangerous, unpredictable and amazing process.
