Mooney is one of the very few Birds of Happiness fired in Japanese naked raku technique. It was hand modelled, hand burnished, hand painted dried in controlled conditions. It was fired in a kiln at about thousand degrees celsius.
Finally it was fired in raku technique but without any glaze. That is why the technique is called naked raku. with no glaze. The ancient raku firing which always brings a final surprise to each of the pieces making every single one unique with their own story. There is a life happiness in every Bird of Happiness, born out of synergy of human touch, clay, water, air and heat. Holding a Bird of Happiness in our hand we feel one with the nature.
