Bird of Happiness Camelia is hand modelled, hand burnished, hand painted and hand glazed. It was created one sunny Sunday afternoon after a family lunch on my mum’s terrace in the shade of a large spruce tree.
The hand glazing and ancient final raku firing produced stunning and unpredictable effects making this Bird of Happiness totally unique, one of a kind ceramic gift.
Raku firing always brings a final surprise to each of the pieces making every single one unique with their own story. There is a life happiness in every Bird of Happiness, born out of synergy of human touch, clay, fire, water and smoke . Holding a Bird of Happiness in our hand we feel one with the nature.
